The American Automobile Association (AAA) is one of the most trusted and most familiar names in insurance. AAA has been around since 1902, when nine auto clubs met and formed the first national motoring organization in the United States. AAA does more than just roadside service: it also offers auto, home, life, and other insurance products for active AAA members. Most AAA auto clubs operate full-service insurance agencies. Many AAA clubs also offer products from other insurance companies that are owned and operated for members only. Even with the cost of AAA membership, rates still come out on the low side, which is likely to make them a good value. This is especially true for anyone holding more than one policy with AAA.
Lines of Business:
While all companies offer a range of car insurance discounts, it's hard to judge any individual discount's value in a meaningful way. For one, the discounts are typically a percentage off the base price, instead of the whole policy.
What does this mean?
Your best bet is to directly discuss your particular situation with an agent to make sure you're getting all the discounts that you may be eligible for on your auto policy. For reference, we've listed all the discounts we believe AAA has below in order to help determine which ones may fit your profile (though keep in mind that they can vary by state).

When a homeowner has not had any claims, it's a sign to insurers that they are less likely to make one in the future. With this lower risk profile, insurers can offer savings. The look-back window is almost always five years, but some insurers only look back three years, or offer the discount on a sliding scale.
Discount provided to employees (and often retirees) of the insurance company (and sometimes its affiliates).
Similar to the claim free discount. Insurers rules for qualifications vary, but it typically has to do with how long a customer has been with the company without any (or few) claims.
